Southern Knights’ Retrievers is a family-owned, Christian based retriever training business specializing in started labrador retrievers. This includes basic obedience, basic gun dog/duck dog training.
Our Facilities
We have 28 acres of private training ground which includes:
- 3 training ponds to simulate hunt test scenarios and flooded timber hunting scenarios
- well maintained grassed areas
- flat land and rolling hills
Multiple environmental options such as dry and wet lands, clear areas, timber, and brush piles all of which simulate real-world hunting experiences
My name is Chris Knight of Southern Knights’ Retrievers. SKR is a family owned, Christian based business in the small town of Troy in northwest Tennessee. My goal is to help individuals have a worthwhile hunting experience with good dogs and good hunts. I love involving kids as well, to instill a love of hunting and to protect the future of conservation.
I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Natural Resource Management which aids me in the proper management of my private wildlife preserve, on which we perform our Upland bird hunts, and in proper management of our Sandhill Crane fields. I feel responsible to protect and preserve our lands for future generations of hunters and take pride in this commitment.
I also have a lifetime of bird hunting experience, being brought up hunting and training dogs from a small child. I have … years’ experience as a field guide and professional dog trainer. I want all of my clients to have a great experience through our hunts and dog training programs and learn to love their dogs and the outdoors.
